Join us for an evening of conversation exploring the myths, magical philosophies, and dark feminine ideals that make up internationally renowned Brazilian occult artist Luciana Lupe Vasconcelos’ body of work. This exclusive artist talk features a conversation between Vasconcelos with acclaimed writer, critic, and esoteric art scholar Dr. Amy Hale. Together, they will pull back the veil on the creative practices, surrealist lineages, and metaphysical currents that shape modern magical art.
Luciana Lupe Vasconcelos is a celebrated contemporary artist and illustrator based in Teresópolis, Brazil. Her work explores the mythic and occult realms through traditional water-based media and intricate ink drawing. Her solo exhibit Espíritos Familiares will be closing its run at The Buckland Museum of Witchcraft & Magick on August 8th.
Dr. Amy Hale is an Atlanta-based writer, curator, and critic holding a PhD in Folklore and Mythology from UCLA. A leading authority on contemporary magical practices and esoteric art history, she is the author of Ithell Colquhoun: Genius of the Fern Loved Gully and editor of Essays on Women in Western Esotericism. She frequently hosts critical lecture series investigating how magic shifts our modern encounter with the world.
